I bought this tent for a trip to YellowStone in June 2010. One person could probably put it up alone, but with my husband, it took us less than 15 minutes from beginning to end. Super easy up and down. Great storage bags come with it, you don't have to struggle fitting it back into the bag like most others and it has sturdy handles so you can carry it like a duffle bag.

We never had to test it in the rain, as the weather was great, so I can't attest to that part. It is big and roomy. We put two queen air mattresses in it and slept 4 people very comfortably. I can't see 8 people in it unless they are on the ground lined up like sardines. That wouldn't be for me, but it could be done.

I am giving it 4 stars because, although the two entrances are very convenient and great, I feel that they should be on the front side of the tent, not on the side sides. I say this because we wanted the entrance of the tent to face the fire ring, but if we did that then the other entrance would be facing the complete opposite side. If the two openings were both on the front of the tent then both could face the fire and it would be more easily manueverable to exit the tent. Given where the doors are now, I had to walk completely around the air mattress to get outside to use the restroom during the night, stumbling over things I wouldn't have had to, if the door was facing the front. This is my only complaint, otherwise I love the tent and it is of high quality, well made, beautiful and big. I would buy this tent again and I would recommend it to friends. You can't go wrong with this tent.
